This Pongal became Thala Pongal for everyone because of the release of Thala’s Veeram. As the title means ‘Strong’ the selection of hero really made the film strong enough to enjoy. Thala after a long time depicts himself in a village character with full love, sentiment and extreme anger. Ajith plays the role of Vinayakam and the heroine was Taamanaah showcase as Koperundevi in the film along with them we can see Santhanam, Vidharth, Bala, Pradeep Rawat, Abhinaya, Nasser,Thambi Ramiah and Atul Kulkarnui.
